Dec. 3rd-Dec.7th, 2012

Highlights of this Week:

We worked on our costumes for our upcoming program on Dec. 10th. They are really cute!!!  We also worked on our TOP SECRET project so no peeking or asking trick questions about what we did in class!!  Our lips are sealed.

We would like to say a special thank you to Zach’s brother George for being our special mystery reader.  We really enjoyed your visit!

Coming Up Next Week:

We will be continuing to learn about Chanukah.  We will learn about the shamash’s  job, make menorahs out of paint sticks and  hand-print menorahs too.  The smell of latkahs will be in the air  (and on our clothes and in our hair)  when we fry up a batch of those crispy treats , listening to them sizzle in the hot oil and eating them on Tuesday for our snack- yum yum!!.

Home Learning Opportunities:

Make some latkahs with your family. Let  your child help you pick out the potatoes, grate them, mix them up etc. An adult will have to fry them, but do a taste test and see which your family likes them served with better, plain, sour cream, or applesauce.    Share your results with the class.
