This is a very busy month for us!
As many of you know, at the end of this month Thanksgiving and Hanukkah will be colliding and creating the super holiday “Thanksgivukkah”! This once-in-a-lifetime holiday has been embraced by many Jewish American families, but no matter what holiday you celebrate we will have you covered. Last week we spent some time talking about what we were thankful for and we made some great holiday decorations for your home. This week we are talking about families and how much fun it is to get together to celebrate holidays. Also this week and next week we will be getting ready for Hanukkah!
We have made everything from turkeys to latkes. We have been enjoying being thankful for our family and friends, and we have also enjoyed talking about menorahs and playing dreidel.
I’m sure you all would love to see some of the creations we have been making with your little ones… Well, I am not ruining the surprise! Great crafts will be coming your way soon!
This week in science we also learned about balance. We regally balanced bean bags on our head, and we also tried to balance a potato on a spoon in a great race. As always, science was a blast!
Some important events and dates to remember:
Wednesday November 27th is Intergenerational Day (early dismissal day)! Have your families join us for a day of fun and celebration.
Monday December 2nd (in the evening) is our school Hanukkah performance
Wednesday December 4th is our class Hanukkah party!
More information will be coming to you soon regarding these events.
If you have photos of your child with his/her grandparents and would like to send them in (even just printed on plain paper and not photo paper is fine!) we are going to be working on creating crafts for Intergenerational day. If you do not send in family photos we will use some of the photos we have taken in class, over the last few months we have some great shots!
