I’m guessing some of you just read the title of this blog and gave the same look some of your little ones did. I just couldn’t help myself though. We were all excited! Play dough… Conducting Electricity?? How much fun is that??
Today in science we took play dough and formed it into any two shapes we wanted. Some of our friends went with the standard snake, others went with the mountain pile. They were all unique for sure. Then, we used electrodes to hook the play dough up to a small battery pack. When we connected the play dough to either a light bulb or a small bell we could either see or hear the reaction! The lights lit up different colors and by tapping the buzzer on the dough we could make different rhythms. None of us know Morse Code, but if we did we could have relayed “This is fun!” with our buzzer! 🙂
You can even see some of our successful light ups in the photos.
