Spring is here and we are *so* excited! As a class, it is the time of year that we talk about growing things, seeing baby animals, learning all about gardens and we get ready for Passover! This week, and then for the next two weeks, our curriculum units will revolve around spring and then we will spend two weeks getting ready for Passover.
This week we talked about berries! We ate strawberries and we made our very own strawberries. We talked about the seeds on the outside of a strawberry and we even added seeds to the strawberries we made. We read a book about jam, and we also had a special book brought in by Ms. Betty. It was a story in Hebrew about a lion that loved strawberries. Thankfully, she translated for us. 🙂
Here is a photo of us adding seeds to our strawberries.
We also planted some of our parsley seeds hoping that we would have some sprouting in time for Passover. While we were in the garden getting dirt for our seedlings we found that some of the carrots we planted in the fall were still growing! We pulled one and chopped it up for snack! It was rather small, so we are giving the rest time to grow before we pull them and eat them.
Stay tuned for more spring fun!
